The Advanta River Ambush rods were designed for targeting specimen size fish from smaller natural venues and rivers. Based around a short blank concept the rods have a very subtle through action to soak up sudden rushes from big fish and plenty of power in the lower end of the rod to ensure you remain in control. The advantages of short rods are that you can get into position easier especially if there is undergrowth of bushes around you. The short rod also allows you to set the rod in tight swims easily and discreetly to ensure you do not spook fish when up close. The Advanta River ambush rods feature carbon blanks with a spliced in fibreglass tip for bite registration, ultralight guides and a full cork handle and grip complement this rod. These little rods also make great starter rods for younger anglers, they have all the features and quality of the longer types but are much easier for youngsters and beginners to hold and use.
