As to the rings, good quality lightweight SiCs so they work perfectly well but wouldn’t add potential flat spots and unnecessary weight which would reduce casting distance. The advanced pattern which gives the strength where needed and keeps the tip nice and light again increasing casting performance. An anti wrap around tip ring was added to help untangle the line when it wraps around the tip. Every little helps.
